Are you a responsible citizen looking to carry with confidence, competence, and a clear understanding of what it means to be armed in public? Whether you're preparing for your concealed carry license or looking to sharpen your skills, this course delivers the knowledge and training necessary to carry responsibly and effectively. The Practical Concealed Carry Fundamentals course at Valor Defense Depot Training Division is not your standard firearms class. This is real-world, combative concealed carry training—a high-intensity course designed to equip legally armed citizens with the practical skills and mindset needed to prevail in a sudden, violent encounter. When danger strikes, it won’t be in a calm, controlled environment. It’ll be fast, frantic, and chaotic. Your training should reflect that. This course is built around that reality.
The primary goal of this course is to develop the ability to safely and quickly draw and fire your concealed carry pistol under stress—from concealment, while moving, and often within arms-reach of a threat (0–10 yards). You'll work from your actual Everyday Carry (EDC) setup, because that’s what you'll rely on when it matters most. This is about building combat-effective shooting skills, not competition. You’ll learn how to think, move, and act decisively when needed.
Course Objectives:
- Speed and Accuracy Under Pressure
Quickly deliver accurate shots at close range, under time constraints and physical stress.
- Working From and To the Holster
Efficient, safe draw and re-holstering techniques with cover garments in place.
- First-Shot Performance
Rapid first-round hits from concealment—on one or more threats.
- Multiple Threat Engagements
Shooting multiple rounds on one target and transitioning quickly to engage multiple targets.
- Reload Techniques
Tactical and emergency reloads under stress and movement.
- Movement Drills
Fire while moving forward, backward, laterally, and at angles—because threats don't stand still.
- Seated Position Work
Draw, shoot, and move from a seated position—common in public and vehicle settings.
- Shooting Around Non-Threats
Accurately engage targets while maintaining muzzle discipline and threat isolation.
- Tactical Movement
Transition from a seated or disadvantaged position to a position of cover or advantage while returning fire.
